Before You Visit

  • Please note the time and date of your appointment, and if you are unable to attend kindly give us 24 hours notice.  Call 256 - 381 - 6210 to cancel or reschedule.
  • For your very first visit, you can expect to fill out some forms regarding yourself and your pet. This just takes a few minutes.
  • Please be prepared to discuss your pet's medical history and inform us of all medications your pet is taking and procedures your pet has had performed.
  • If you received any paperwork with your new pet (for example, adoption papers from an animal shelter) please be sure to bring those along with you.
  • There is a lot of traffic on Highway 20, so you must make sure that your pet is properly restrained. Please ensure that your dog is on a leash and your cat is in a carrier before exiting your vehicle. It is not safe to allow them to roam free in the lobby or parking lot.
  • If your dog is aggressive, please fit him with a muzzle before entering the clinic as there may be other dogs and people in our lobby.  A comfortable nylon muzzle can be purchased at any pet store.
  • Walk in patients will be worked in when possible, but please note that patients with prior appointments take priority.
  • Emergencies will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
  • A vet's office can be a stressful and frightening place for your pet.  Keep in mind that he or she may react in unexpected ways in such an unfamiliar environment and do not become frustrated with strange behavior.  If you stay calm your pet is more likely to remain calm.
  • For the safety of your pet, yourself, and our staff, please stand aside and allow us to handle your pet in the exam room.
